Description
Red Dry
Kakheti Region, Georgia
The history of Mukuzani, a protected designation of origin, is closely associated with Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. In the second half of the 19th century, French and Georgian winemakers began identifying the finest terroirs for Saperavi and discovered that this grape variety expresses its character particularly well in the Mukuzani microzone. Mukuzani also has excellent ageing potential and is traditionally matured in French oak barrels.
The wine displays the signature aromas of Saperavi: blackberry, cherry and black plum, accompanied by a subtle peppery note. In its youth, it reveals delicate nuances of cornelian cherry and pomegranate, which gradually develop into complex notes of forest floor, mushrooms, vanilla and red bell pepper.
Enjoy Mukuzani with roasted meats, aged cheeses and rich, hearty dishes.
